This natural phenomenon, known as the Angkor Equinox or Equinox Angkor, signifies the changing seasons and demonstrates the ingenuity of Khmer architecture and its deep connection to the planet.

According to a press release, the Ministry of Tourism said: "The Angkor Equinox event is a special solar phenomenon that occurs twice a year at Angkor Wat Temple in Cambodia, the first of which is called the Vernal Equinox between March 21 and 23 from 5:00 am to 6:30 am."

The second event is the Autumnal Equinox between September 21 and 23 at a similar sunrise time.

The ministry proudly asserts that this phenomenon not only shows the ingenuity of temple design, but also the ingenuity of the Khmer people, whose belief and understanding of the universe led the construction of Angkor Wat temple.

During the course of these two events, the sun rises directly parallel to the temple's central tower, creating a stunning display of the harmony between architecture and nature.

This night's miracle, which occurs twice a year, is the result of the Khmer people's rapid understanding of astronomy, architecture, and celestial movements.

Long Kosol, spokesman for the Apsara National Authority, said: "It's a rare and awe-inspiring event.

Last year's event had record-breaking attendees, with many spectators gathering on March 21 and 22.

On March 22, the number reached nearly 12,000 with more than 2,600 foreign visitors as national and international visitors gathered at the site, eager to see the sunshine over the temple.
