The back of the market, which is located at the junction between Koh Kong Province and Por Saet Province, has been attracting both national and international tourists for an adventurous visit.
The Minister's visit is "to make it more attractive, to associate with the community and help boost the economy of the citizens on the ground."
The Minister made the visit on foot for more than 3 kilometers and passed through exquisite natural scenic areas such as fresh green pine fields, and fresh air, crossing the crocodile hill to the rice paddy hill and continuing to the hill hill area where this season highlighted the scenery like a golden carpet on the mountain.
The Minister said that in line with the Royal Government of Cambodia's Rectangular Strategy, Phase 1 of the 7th Legislative Assembly, and on the instructions of Prime Minister Hun Manet, the Ministry of Environment has been reviewing the development of green leisure destinations to connect each place with natural or heritage properties with tourism activities to benefit the community.
The head of the Kampong Speu Provincial Environment Department, Chanthet Thanaro, said that 45 tourists, including 5 foreign tourists, climbed the hill in January 2025.
In February 2025, there were a total of 92 tourists visiting the hill, of which there were a total of 20 foreign visitors.
The Kampong Speu Provincial Administration considers Nong Phat as a "natural paradise", an area rich in dense forests, high valleys, and beautiful grasslands.
In the early morning, tourists should travel to the market to witness the beauty of the sunrise, accompanied by the cool weather and the clouds flying majestically.
The rainforest scenery, rich in birds, has made tourists who have climbed to the top of the hill, and lose their worries, absorbing the natural environment while climbing to the top of the mountain.
The breeze blows the body, looking a little farther away from the clouds, flying in the dense forest, a new taste for tourists who have visited the resort, the "natural paradise".
However, once they reached the top of the mountain, tourists encountered many difficulties through a journey on foot for approximately 5 to 7 hours.
The way to the back of the market is to go up the hill through the environmental headquarters in Kampong Speu province.
Deputy Secretary General and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Environment, Kwai Artaya, said that as of 2024, a total of 193 protected area communities have been established, covering an area of 332 108 hectares in 362 villages and 115 communes of 15 provinces.
