Trump announced the new tariffs on April 2, which he considers "American Liberation Day."
Other countries that also suffer from high tariff rates are Vietnam 46 percent, Sri Lanka 44 percent, Bangladesh 37 percent, China 34 percent, Taiwan 32 percent, India 26 percent, South Korea 25 percent, Japan 24 percent, and countries from the European Union 20 percent.
The US was the largest buyer of goods from Cambodia, with a market share of 37.9 percent, followed by Vietnam at 13.8 percent, China at 6.7 percent and Japan at 5.4 percent.
In 2024, Cambodia's exports to the US amounted to US$9.92 billion, an increase of 11.4 per cent, while US goods re-imports amounted to US$264.15 million, an increase of 2.7 per cent.
The overwhelming majority of Cambodian goods brought to the U.S. market are clothing, luggage, and footwear.
