
Mon Kiri Province NEWS: Located in the northeastern village of Cambodia, Mon Kiri Province is attractive for its pristine natural beauty, wildlife sanctuaries, and indigenous culture.

Mung Kiri is famous for many waterfalls, including the popular Busa Waterfall, Sen Mon Noi Waterfall, Raina, Leng An, and Leng Khin, etc., which can attract nature lovers from all directions.
The northeastern territory also has eco-tourism zones, and wildlife sanctuaries, including the Phnom Prek and Saem Khok Wildlife Sanctuary, which also provide recreational habitat to wildlife and nature tourists.
"Out of the more than 100 potentials, he confirmed that only one Busa Waterfall resort is being developed and all tourism operations are run by Khmer owners."
Kiri district has an area of 14 288 square kilometers and is divided into 1 municipality with 4 districts, 4 sub-districts, 17 communes, and 92 villages with a total population of more than 100,000 people.
Kiri Province has 5 wildlife sanctuaries with the potential to develop ecotourism, gold and bauxite mineral resources, etc.
The relevant institutions have a project to establish an indigenous center to compile the traditions and traditions of the 8 indigenous peoples, including Poonong, Khuy, Jarai, Tholon, Radhe, etc.
He mentioned that the overwhelming number of tourists are local Khmer citizens, with a rate of over 400,000 in 2024, while foreign tourists are only over 6,000.
However, he claimed that the tourism situation in Kiri Province increased beyond 2019 before COVID-19, or more than 70 percent.
"Currently, there are 15 projects in which local companies are interested in investing in ecotourism projects with an area of less than 10 hectares each in the sanctuary," said Mr. Soviman, president of the Cambodian Journalists Club (CCJ), who leads a team of more than 20 journalists to promote the potential of Kiri Province.

He revealed that the Turtle Turtle Community-style Ecotourism Area, a collaboration between the Ministry of Environment and partner organizations, has created the potential for tourists to visit the monkeys, while the approximately 8-headed elephant camp attracts international tourists.
"Currently, the Kiri district has more than 2,000 accommodation rooms and he admits that when there is a big festival, the Northeast province does not provide enough services, but not as many as in the past."
He sees that the Chinese have come to stay in various villages in Kiri Province, but he does not know that they are just coming to stay or to invest in a certain sector in the province.
With the connectivity of air infrastructure, there are currently two foreign companies involved in the development of an airport in Kiri Province.
