New report: Phnom Penh ranks 41st among the 100 best cities in Asia Pacific

Phnom Penh is ranked 41st out of 100 cities in the Asia-Pacific region for "livability, attractiveness, and prosperity".

The report, released on February 12, stated that the scars of the Khmer Rouge regime have gradually healed, helping the capital become an important area for investors, foreigners, and international businesses.

In addition, Phnom Penh has the lowest unemployment rate and the second-highest labor force participation rate in the evaluation ranking.

These two factors have made Phnom Penh ranked "No. 25 Great" in the Prosperity category.

The same report states: "In the next 10 years, there will be significant expansions, including major projects such as the ongoing development of the Olympia City project and the expansion of development in Koh Pich, which not only changes the landscape of the capital but also attracts foreign investment and international business."

Currently, Aeon Mall and Raffles Hotel are world-renowned international brands with a presence in Phnom Penh, contributing to the city's strength.

The report adds that new projects such as The City Center 2 will transform the landscape of commercial buildings and luxury residences, making Phnom Penh an important commercial hub in the region.

At the same time, there will also be a Global Tech Exchange project, a dedicated location for the technology sector, which can attract international technology companies and spur the development of new business initiatives.

The data collection method for this report involves taking user mentions from online sources such as Google, Tripadvisor, and Instagram and incorporating them into rating factors to measure the quality of life in each city.

Resonance Consulting has determined livability based on the quality of the natural environment and the construction of social buildings, including parks, landmarks, neighborhoods, and heritage properties.

Lovability measures the vibrancy and what makes a city lovely, such as culture, food, and nightlife.

Prosperity evaluates human resources, business support infrastructure connectivity, and related factors.
