Thailand's Khaosod English website reported earlier that the 2nd Amphibious Army has postponed the repatriation of 18 Khmer soldiers as the interrogation is yet to be completed, but will send two soldiers, one wounded and one mentally retarded, back first via the Chom-Or Samak gate tomorrow, August 01.
The military newspaper reported that on July 31, a source from the 2nd Military Region confirmed that in connection with the repatriation of 18 Cambodian soldiers on August 1 at 10:00 a.m., they initially coordinated with the Cambodian side to repatriate two of them.
The newspaper added that one soldier was injured and receiving treatment and the other was mentally ill.
Khaosod English further claims that upon completion, a new date for their repatriation will have to be agreed upon with Cambodia.
