CCTV Footage Shows Armed Robbers Attempting to Break Into Petrol Station Floor Safe in Uganda
A dramatic robbery attempt captured on CCTV has gone viral online after showing a group of armed thieves storming an office at a petrol station and attempting to break into a hidden floor safe.
The incident reportedly took place on March 9 at a branch of Stabex Petrol Station, Namakonkome Branch, along Bombo Road.
The footage shows several suspects forcing their way into the office and threatening employees while trying to access a safe embedded in the floor.
Robbers Force Their Way Into the Office
According to reports, the suspects first knocked loudly on the office door, startling a female employee who was inside the room.
When she opened the door to see what was happening, several men quickly forced their way into the office. Another employee was also present in the room, which appears to serve as a safe room for the station.
The CCTV footage shows the attackers taking control of the situation shortly after entering.
Both workers were ordered to kneel on the floor while the suspects searched the office. One of the attackers appeared to be holding an AK-47 rifle and used it to threaten the employees while demanding cooperation.
Attackers Target Hidden Floor Safe
After securing the room, the suspects focused their attention on a safe embedded in the office floor.
Using tools such as a hammer and a crowbar, the group repeatedly struck the safe in an attempt to break it open.
At the same time, another suspect searched through drawers and documents on the office desk, possibly looking for additional cash or valuables.
The CCTV footage shows the suspects taking turns attempting to force open the safe while continuing to intimidate the workers inside the room.
Unclear Whether Robbers Succeeded
The video ends before it becomes clear whether the suspects were able to open the safe or escape with money or other valuables.
Authorities have not yet released full details about the outcome of the incident or whether any suspects have been arrested.
Online Reactions and Speculation
After the footage surfaced online, it sparked intense discussion on social media.
Some viewers questioned how the attackers knew the exact location of the hidden safe, leading to speculation that the robbery might have involved insider information.
Others focused on the frightening situation faced by the employees and urged people to cooperate with criminals during dangerous incidents to avoid serious harm.
Law enforcement authorities are expected to continue investigating the robbery attempt to determine how the suspects gained access to the office and whether the crime involved assistance from someone familiar with the petrol station’s internal layout.
