Ogun Police Arrest Father, Son, and Three Others, Recover Four Firearms in Major Security Operation
ABEOKUTA, NIGERIA – The Ogun State Police Command has arrested five suspects, including a father and his son, during a series of intelligence-led operations that led to the recovery of four firearms and other exhibits across different parts of the state.

Father and Son Arrested Over Stolen Phone Investigation
The first operation resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old suspect and his father after police launched an investigation into the theft of a smartphone reported by a resident.
Acting on intelligence, officers successfully traced and recovered the stolen device. During a subsequent search of the suspects' residence, conducted with legal authorization, police discovered a locally made pistol and a Dane gun allegedly hidden inside the property.

Firearm Recovered During Routine Patrol
In a separate operation, police officers on routine patrol reportedly recovered a locally fabricated pistol and a live cartridge abandoned near a major roadway.
The firearm was secured and transferred to police custody while investigators work to determine its origin and identify those responsible for possessing it.
Suspect Linked to Stolen Dane Gun Arrested
Another suspect, identified as a 25-year-old man, was arrested in connection with the theft of a Dane gun belonging to a resident.
Investigators allege that the suspect gained access to the victim's property while working on renovation activities and later stole the firearm.
Police said the suspect allegedly confessed during questioning and provided additional information that is now being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
Cases Transferred for Further Investigation
All recovered weapons, including two Dane guns, a locally made pistol, and a locally fabricated pistol, have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
