Musica Felice to Hold First Charity Concert in Siem Reap in Support of Kantha Bopha Hospital
SIEM REAP, Cambodia — June 2026: International music group Musica Felice is set to host its first-ever charity concert in Siem Reap, bringing together music lovers and supporters of children's healthcare for a meaningful cause. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Kantha Bopha Hospital, one of Cambodia’s most important pediatric healthcare institutions.
The special performance, titled “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” will take place on June 27, 2026, at the Jayavarman VII Convention Hall in Siem Reap. Organized under the inspiring theme “Every Ticket Saves Lives,” the event aims to raise funds to support free medical care for Cambodian children.
Music with a Purpose
According to Musica Felice conductor Miwako Fujiwara, the idea for the charity concert was inspired by a visit to the concert hall located near Jayavarman VII Hospital (Kantha Bopha III). After learning more about the hospital’s life-saving work, the group decided to dedicate its first Siem Reap performance to supporting its mission.
The event will combine choral music, piano performances, storytelling, and theatrical elements, create a unique cultural experience while help children in need.
Supporting Cambodia’s Children
For decades, Kantha Bopha Hospital has provided free medical treatment to millions of Cambodian children, regardless of their family's financial situation. The hospital continues to serve as a vital healthcare provider, offering specialized treatment, surgeries, and emergency care for children from across the country.
Many families travel long distances seeking treatment for serious illnesses, and the hospital's commitment to free healthcare has made it a symbol of hope for countless parents.
Honoring a Lasting Legacy
The concert also pays tribute to the late Dr. Beat Richner, the founder of Kantha Bopha Hospitals. Known not only as a pediatrician but also as a talented musician, Dr. Richner frequently used music performances to raise awareness and funding for children's healthcare in Cambodia.
Organizers say the charity concert reflects the same spirit of compassion and community service that Dr. Richner championed throughout his life.
Community Impact Through Arts
Musica Felice believes music can bring people together and inspire positive change. By attending the concert, audience members will not only enjoy an international cultural performance but also directly contribute to improving healthcare opportunities for Cambodian children.
The organizers hope the event will encourage greater public participation in charitable initiatives and demonstrate how arts and culture can support meaningful social causes.
