Supermarket Murder Suspect Linked to Earlier Theft at Same Store, Police Say
A man accused of killing a supermarket owner during a robbery in South Korea has also been linked to an earlier theft at the same business, according to police investigators.
Authorities in Incheon announced that the suspect, a Chinese national in his 40s, has been transferred to prosecutors on charges including robbery, murder, and theft following an extensive investigation into the case.
Fatal Attack During Robbery
Investigators allege that the suspect entered a supermarket in the Dohwa-dong area of Incheon on the evening of June 6 and attacked the 70-year-old store owner with a blunt object before stealing cash from the business.
The victim was reportedly alone in the store at the time of the incident. Emergency responders were unable to save him, and the suspect allegedly fled the scene with approximately 700,000 won in cash.

Earlier Theft Discovered
During the investigation, police uncovered evidence suggesting that the same suspect had targeted the supermarket weeks before the fatal robbery.
