The Khmer Boxing Federation issued an urgent press release on Sunday to reiterate its independence and stance in carrying out its work and organizing national and international Khmer Boxing competitions without being under the International Khmer Martial Arts Federation.
The announcement was made in response to the International Khmer Martial Arts Federation's directive requiring each national Khmer Martial Arts Federation to apply for a license from the International Khmer Martial Arts Federation in order to host international Khmer boxing and professional Khmer martial arts competitions in all forms in more than five countries.

Mr. Khoo Chai stated in such a press release: "The Khmer Boxing Federation has the prerogative and full autonomy to promote and organize all Khmer martial arts competitions in all forms, both domestically and abroad, without allowing the International Khmer Martial Arts Federation to interfere absolutely."
