The leg-footed player, nicknamed Psycho Sucker, Hope, will be competing for the ISKA Kun Khmer World belt with Polish multi-institutional belt holder Marcin Nicinski at the campus of the Industrial Park Phase 1 located along the Highway of Phnom Penh this Saturday night.
Cambodia T Warit and Penket Rajasit will also compete in the ISKA Kun Khmer Southeast Asia Marathon with boxers from Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia tonight, starting at 8 p.m., and will also be broadcast live on the ISKA 11 television.
For the ISKA Kun Khmer World Championship in the 61 kg category, Sen Bunten, coach of Bad Hope, saw it as a tense match because Marcin Nicinski is Poland's top-ranked strong foot player who has won 11 belts, and what is special is that Marcin Nicinski has also won the ISKA World belt.
Sean Bunten said: "I've seen the profile of this Polish player, is very good, highly important and has a batting weapon all the way to the worry we always have, but mainly it depends on his ability, hope, and his coaching, he has a good quality of strength because he trains consistently to prepare for the tournament this time."
When asked, what are his expectations for Suck Hope's ISKA Kun Khmer World Championship this time? Bunten replied: "This Polish player is good and has also won the ISKA World belt, but this is a domestic tournament for us. I am confident that he will do well. I hope he will do well, I hope for him 70 per cent."
Hope said: "I love this belt so much, and if it is, my belt count will go back six after I lost one belt in the past."
T Varit will compete in the ISKA Kun Khmer Southeast Asia International Belt Marathon in the 63.5 kg weight category with Philippine player Jairus Aban, Malaysian Spencer Anak Tony, and Vietnamese boxer Nguyen Huut Tinh.
Te Wariti, who has fought more than 100 times and won one belt for his boxing career since 2015, has shown high determination to claim the international belt, as the first qualifier will be against Filipino Jairus Aban, and Malaysian Spencer Anak Tony will face Vietnamese Nguyen Huut Tinh.
The 23-year-old said, "For the three foreign players who have to compete for this one belt, any match, I am not tired because I have trained fully and I am determined to take this belt for the club."
In the press conference on Friday, he will compete in the first round with the champion from Vietnam, Ta Fuc Du; Malaysian Mohd Azri Bin Nazman will meet Filipino player Kervin Lampacan, and the winner will have to compete in the final to claim the belt only once.
