Lexus Unveils Futuristic TZ Electric SUV with Luxury “Driving Lounge” Experience

Japanese luxury automaker Lexus has officially revealed its newest flagship electric SUV, the Lexus TZ — a premium all-electric model designed to combine cutting-edge technology, spacious comfort, and high-end performance in one futuristic package.

The upcoming SUV is expected to compete directly with luxury electric rivals such as the Volvo EX90 when it launches globally in 2027.

A New Era of Luxury Electric SUVs

The Lexus TZ is the largest vehicle the company has ever built, featuring a bold new design language focused on aerodynamics and elegance. Lexus describes the vehicle as a “driving lounge,” highlighting its mission to deliver maximum comfort and relaxation for passengers.

Unlike many large SUVs that offer seven seats, the TZ comes with a six-seat layout featuring premium captain’s chairs in the second row for a more luxurious travel experience.

Bigger, More Spacious, More Premium

The Lexus TZ measures over 5.1 meters long, making it slightly larger than several competitors in the luxury EV market. The SUV also offers impressive cargo space, suitable for family travel and long-distance journeys.

Inside the cabin, Lexus focuses heavily on passenger comfort with:

  • Slim luxury seats for extra cabin space

  • Heated and ventilated seating

  • Optional ottoman-style leg rests

  • Massive panoramic glass roof

  • 21-speaker premium audio system

  • Ultra-quiet cabin technology

The flat EV floor design also creates more comfortable third-row seating for adult passengers.

Powerful Electric Performance

The Lexus TZ uses dual electric motors producing a combined output of over 400 horsepower with all-wheel drive capability. The luxury EV can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just around 5.4 seconds.

The SUV is powered by a large 96kWh battery pack capable of delivering an estimated driving range of up to 531 kilometers on a single charge.

Fast charging support allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 35 minutes.

Advanced Driving Technology

One of the most unique features of the TZ is Lexus’s simulated manual driving system, which recreates the feel of an eight-speed manual transmission using paddle shifters. The system also includes simulated engine sounds and steering feedback for a more engaging driving experience.

Additional technologies include:

  • Rear-wheel steering

  • Advanced suspension system

  • Comfort-focused rear passenger driving mode

  • Enhanced aerodynamic body design

Expanding Lexus’s EV Future

The Lexus TZ represents a major step forward in the company’s transition toward electric mobility. While pricing has not yet been announced, the SUV is expected to become one of the brand’s most luxurious and technologically advanced vehicles ever produced.

Industry analysts believe the TZ could help Lexus strengthen its position in the growing premium EV market, especially in Asia, Europe, and North America.

Conclusion

With futuristic styling, luxury-focused interior features, and strong electric performance, the Lexus TZ aims to redefine what a luxury family EV can be. As global demand for premium electric SUVs continues to rise, Lexus appears ready to challenge competitors with a vehicle designed for both comfort and innovation.
