CMAC NEWS: A potato truck driver died after driving a potato truck at a potato farm collided with a mine, causing an explosion in the village of Phnom Nam, Kun Ta Sada, Amphoe Lon District, Bang Dom Province on the afternoon of January 17.
According to the Mine Authority, the victim, Thai Soen Phet, 42 years old, suffered injuries to both legs and head.
However, according to Heng Rattana, Director General of the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC), the victim has died.
This is the second case of a mine explosion in 2025 after two victims, CMAC's demining workers, died in a deadly mine explosion accident while on the job in Ngong Trang Prasat District, Uttarakhand Province on January 16.
