177 Vietnamese deported and blacklisted for at least 3 to 5 years!!!!

177 Vietnamese nationals were expelled from Cambodia on February 7

177 Vietnamese nationals have been extradited to their country by Cambodian authorities on several charges, including illegal border crossing, online fraud, and having sexual relations with children.

Vietnamese, including 19 women and 158 men, were deported through Vietnam's Bavit and Mumbai border crossings on Feb. 7.

Sok Somna, Deputy Director-General of the Immigration Department in charge of the Foreigners Department, said: "All these Vietnamese nationals have crossed the border to Cambodia illegally and worked illegally without work permits."

Mr. Somna stated that they would be punished by Vietnamese law.

According to Vietnamese media, of those 177, 48 left Vietnam legally, while 129 crossed the border illegally.

Up to 176 individuals were involved in online scams, including gambling, fake investment programs, and romance scams, run by a company in Sweary Province, Cambodia.

According to the Vietnam Plus website, "Two suspects have been arrested: one is being pursued by the Thu Duc City Police of Ho Chi Minh City for sexual intercourse with a minor aged 13 to 16 years old, and the other is being pursued by the District 3 Police of Ho Chi Minh City on the charge of theft."

With these offenses, the Director General of the Immigration Department stated that those international offenders must also be included in Cambodia's list by the law.

Mr Somna told Phnom Penh Post: "Under Cambodian law, we have to put him on a blacklist and not be able to enter the Kingdom of Cambodia for at least 3 to 5 years."
